About MODSIM World

About MODSIM World

The MODSIM World Conference and Expo began in 2007 when the Hampton Roads Partnership's Center for Public/Private Partnership (CP3) saw the need to share information about and interests in the vast amount of modeling and simulation (M&S) based development occurring in the Hampton Roads area. In part, because of the synergy created by the efforts of Joint Forces Command, Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC), Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), NASA Langley, and the many others military organizations, colleges, universities, and industry members, it became obvious there needed to be a regular forum for the sharing of M&S knowledge and achievement in the region. MODSIM World sprang forth. Today, MODSIM is in its fifth cycle, growing larger every year.

2011 Conference Committee

This year's Conference Committee is an eclectic group of academics and professionals from across the country. Each Committee member holds a vested interest in all areas of modeling and simulation. Their volunteer efforts make this event possible.

Brian Teer
Conference Chair
Brian Teer
Alion Science and Technology

Brian Teer is an Assistant Vice President at Alion Science and Technology. He is currently the Technical Director for Alion's Advanced Modeling and Simulation Technology Operation (AMSTO) based in Hampton Roads, VA. With more than 20 years of systems and software engineering, Brian's experience has spanned a multitude of technical disciplines. Throughout his career, Brian has led modeling and simulation programs in both small business and large corporate environments including the Joint and Service Defense communities, as well as commercial industry. Brian has been instrumental in development efforts for multiple enabling applications and technologies in current use within DoD, including the Common Distributed Mission Training Station (CDMTS) and the Joint Bus (JBUS), which reduce effort to conduct training and experimentation in M&S environments, resulting in time and cost savings. Brian has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and M.S. in Computer Science, both from North Carolina State University.
