2011 THEME: Overcoming Critical Global Challenges with Modeling & Simulation
MODSIM World is a unique multi-disciplinary international conference for the exchange of modeling and simulation knowledge, research and technology across industry, government and academia.

MODSIM World Conference and Expo is a multi-disciplinary international Modeling and Simulation (M&S) conference and exposition that provides a unique opportunity to learn about new M&S applications and practices across diverse domains.
MODSIM World began in 2007 with the creation of the Center for Public and Private Partnership (CP3), a non-profit corporation that drew membership from the M&S industry and community leaders in Hampton Roads, VA. CP3 saw the interest and need to share information about the vast amount of M&S based development occurring in the Hampton Roads area, including work based at Joint Forces Command (JFCOM); Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC); Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS); NASA Langley; and many other regional government, academic, and industry organizations. MODSIM has been held annually ever since.
The conference is always held in Hampton Roads in mid-October. The 2011 conference is being held October 11-14 at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, VA, and the 2012 conference will be held October 9-12 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, VA.
Specific focus areas of the conference vary from year to year, based upon current events and interest level. The 2011 conference tracks are Defense, Homeland Security & First Responders; Education; Health & Medicine; Human Dimension; and Serious Games & Virtual Worlds. Past MODSIM conferences have included tracks on Engineering and Science and Transportation. This year's special event on Manufacturing M&S could evolve into a full conference track in the future, while other focus areas under consideration for future conferences include Cyber, Energy, and Transportation.
MODSIM World will become the premier international conference and exposition for collaboration and transfer of M&S knowledge, new research, development and applied technology across all public and private sectors.
